Mental Health Crisis Worker

Born in Tennessee and a proud resident of Madison County, New York for over 30 years, Julie Mosley is a dedicated Madison County Mental Health Crisis Worker with the Oneida City Police Department as a C.A.R.E Specialist (Crisis Assessment, Response, & Engagement). In this role, she provides compassionate, professional screening, assessment, and intervention for individuals experiencing mental health crises. Working in collaboration with law enforcement, clinical staff, and community service providers, Mosley helps ensure that individuals in crisis receive timely, appropriate support and connections to ongoing care, including follow-up with individuals referred to her by OPD members.

Mosley brings a strong foundation of experience from more than a decade in behavioral health and crisis intervention. Before joining the Oneida City Police Department, she served in roles at Pathways Wellness Center, including Recovery Center Coordinator and Peer Specialist. Additionally, she has worked with the Mobile Crisis Assessment Team (MCAT), providing on-call crisis response and de-escalation services throughout Madison County. Across these roles, Julie has developed a reputation for leadership, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to empowering individuals on their wellness and recovery journeys.

A New York State Certified Peer Specialist, Julie has completed specialized training in areas such as trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and mental health first aid. This extensive training, combined with personal insight and professional experience, informs her holistic approach to crisis response and community wellness. Outside of work, Julie enjoys tackling home DIY projects, attending music concerts, and spending  quality time with her two sons.
