Motor Equipment Operator

This position is an untested position in the non-competitive class paid at $23.83 per hour that may be responsible for any of the following:

• Operates trucks in connection with hauling material for road construction and repair;
• Operates trucks to transport workers, tools, and other equipment;
• Operates a front end loader, back hoe, or tractor on assignment;
• Performs minor mechanical repairs on automotive equipment;
• Services and maintains assigned vehicles in good condition;
• Loads and unloads trucks;
• May assist in:

-Sanitary and storm sewer, and lateral repair and replacement;

-excavation, drainage, and embankment projects;

-building and repairs of catch basins and manholes;

-placement of stone walls, curbs, sidewalks, etc.;

-construction of masonry and stone walls;

-repairs and installation of traffic control devices, signs, and pavement markings;

• Performs a variety of other manual tasks, such as cleaning culverts, shoveling snow, painting and road maintenance work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

One year of experience in the operation of some type of automotive equipment; or any combination of experience and training.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Possession of Commercial Drivers License, Class B with Air Brake and Tank Endorsements within (6) months of appointment.
