If you are applying for anything through the mail, we accept cashier's checks, money orders and personal checks if from a local bank. Please make payable to City Clerk.
The City Clerk is the official custodian of all City records and the Registrar of Vital Statistics for the City of Oneida. As Registrar and Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics, we are mandated to follow NYS laws and guidelines with regard to all vital records. Please visit the New York State Department of Health website for additional information and questions related to Vital Records. Please note that we only have records for those that were filed in the City of Oneida, and our records date back to 1885. We provide certified copies of the original with the Official City Seal of birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage certificates if the original certificate was issued in the City of Oneida.
As Clerk to the Common Council, the City Clerk is responsible for the official minutes and records of the Common Council, including the preparation of the agenda, resolutions, and correspondences. The City Clerk and Deputy City Clerk also coordinate the publication of all Legal Notices and Press Releases. We look forward to serving you!
