Credit and debit cards may be used for in-person payments only. Applicable processing fees will be disclosed at the time of payment. If applying by mail, acceptable forms of payment include cashier’s checks, money orders, and personal checks drawn on a local bank. Please make all checks/money orders payable to City Clerk.

The City Clerk serves as the official custodian of all City records and as the Registrar of Vital Statistics for the City of Oneida. As Registrar and Deputy Registrar, we are required to comply with all New York State laws and regulations governing vital records. For more information, please visit the NYS Department of Health website.

Please note that our office maintains only those records filed within the City of Oneida, with records dating back to 1885. Certified copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates bearing the Official City Seal are available if the original certificate was issued in the City of Oneida.

As Clerk to the Common Council, the City Clerk is responsible for maintaining the official minutes and records of the Council, as well as preparing agendas, resolutions, and correspondence. The City Clerk and Deputy City Clerk also oversee the publication of all Legal Notices and Press Releases.

Credit Cards-All Types 2.50% of Transaction Amount
Debit Cards-All Types (Percentage) 2.50% of Transaction Amount
Debit Cards-All Types (Flat) $2.95 Per Transaction
